Growing up we moved a lot; I remember walking through empty houses for showings and all I could feel was the lifelessness of the space. The one thing my mom always made sure of in every move was that our home felt like home, I watched her breathe life into these spaces. With this came many décor shopping trips, furniture store runs and custom orders. At the time all of this seemed more of an annoyance than fun. As I got older, I started to breathe life of my own into my spaces and I enjoyed doing it.
Fresh out of high school I was offered a job as a sales associate with a small family-owned furniture store, I thought this would be a great job for me while I made my way through paramedic school, never would this become my career. My first day on the job I sold a custom sectional that my clients and I built for their space and their comforts, I was captivated! Seeing how I would be able to help people feel like their home was home, made me giddy. How could something as small as a sofa hold that much power? That’s just the thing, it isn’t about a sofa, chair, or ottoman, it’s about feeling comfortable in your safe place that is home. I am ecstatic to work in an industry that is all about making people comfortable in their personal spaces.
